Salad with Chinese cabbage

Peking cabbage, chicken and croutons make light and delicate salads that can be dressed with mayonnaise or vegetable oil. At first glance, simple ingredients are perfectly combined to form culinary magic.

More often than not, salads made with the above products are categorized as instant salads. Salads that are prepared right before serving. There is a logical explanation. Most often, a salad requires only a few types of products, cutting them takes a few minutes. The main thing is to prepare the preparations.

Another nuance – breadcrumbs have a tendency to get soaked, so they are added right before serving. This statement applies to purchased and homemade breadcrumbs equally. Therefore, there is no point in cutting the salad in advance.

Let’s start our salad review with a popular salad recipe made of Peking cabbage, smoked chicken breast, breadcrumbs and a small amount of Parmesan. Why the salad is called “Men’s Salad” is unknown.

Perhaps because it is very easy to prepare: shred the Peking cabbage finely, dice the chicken breast. Make the dressing out of mayonnaise, garlic and pepper. Mix all the ingredients, decorate with breadcrumbs, sprinkle with parmesan and serve immediately. Let’s look in detail at each step of making this salad.

Ingredients:
0.8 kg – Peking cabbage;
400 g – smoked chicken breast;
3 tooth. – garlic;
4-6 tbsp – mayonnaise;
100-150 g – croutons (bought or homemade);
40 g – Parmesan;
Black pepper;
Paprika.

Step-by-step recipe:

  1. The salad has a big plus. It literally takes 10 minutes to prepare. Let’s run through the grocery cart. For the salad, take twice as much Peking cabbage as the smoked chicken breast. We will use mayonnaise for the salad dressing. If you wish, you can prepare homemade mayonnaise in advance. Next, for a spicy flavor take a couple of cloves of garlic. You will also need some garlic-flavored wheat bread crumbs. Why wouldn’t bread crumbs made from rye or bearded bread work? The taste of the black bread would overpower the harmony of the salad. For spices, we will take some sweet paprika and freshly ground black pepper. For decoration we will use Parmesan.
  2. Take apart the smoked chicken breast. Take away the bones, trim off the excess. Should be left a clean fillet. Now we need to cut the filet in small pieces, but not too finely. Sliced chicken poured in a bowl, where later we will mix the salad.
  3. Let’s proceed to cutting the Peking cabbage. The cabbage is cut lengthwise first. Each part of the cabbage finely shred. Thin leaves can be sliced more coarsely. Dense base of the cabbage discard, it is not suitable for consumption.
  4. Next, let’s make the dressing. For the sauce, we need about a couple cloves of garlic. Those who like garlic can add more. We chop them with a tool or finely chop with a regular knife. Mix the garlic with mayonnaise. Add the paprika. The dressing should leave for a few minutes to absorb the flavors of the garlic and bell bell pepper. After that, you can dress and mix the salad at once. Adjust the amount of garlic mayonnaise to your taste.
  5. Note, there is no need to add salt. The mayonnaise and smoked breast already have enough salt. Gently mix the salad. We can consider that the salad is almost ready. It remains to prepare the salad serving.
  6. We put a portion of salad on the plate. Add croutons. Crisps can be made your own. Cut white bread in medium slices. Fry in a small amount of vegetable oil for a few minutes on each side. Add dried garlic, your favorite seasonings. Grate Parmesan on a grater. Sprinkle the cheese over the salad. Add a little aromatic black pepper.
